About Us

As North Carolina’s first International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme school, Farmington Woods Magnet Elementary is a place where curiosity, connection, and meaningful learning come together. Our students engage with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study through inquiry, exploring big ideas, asking questions, and making sense of the world around them.

Learning at Farmington Woods goes beyond individual subjects. Through the IB framework, students make connections across disciplines, develop a global perspective, and discover how their learning relates to real-life experiences. Along the way, they grow as communicators, collaborators, thinkers, and problem-solvers while building the confidence to take ownership of their learning.

Our classrooms foster cultural understanding and encourage students to see themselves as part of a larger global community. Opportunities to learn Spanish and Mandarin further expand students’ perspectives and appreciation for different cultures. Most importantly, students learn that their actions matter. Whether making a difference in their school, community, or the wider world, Farmington Woods students are empowered to take action and create positive change.

Mission Statement

Wake County Public School System will provide a relevant and engaging education and will graduate students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators and critical thinkers.
